"Chateau Bleu"
located in the elite Pacific Heights area, was designed by Frank Van Trees, the same architect that designed "Le Petit Trianon" (site of several previous CRA fundraisers), and built for Baron Edward Rothschild in 1902. The 3 story monumental classic revival mansion has had a number of uses: residence, a school, a restaurant, a guest house, retirement home and now again a private residence. The interior detailing reflects the opulence of the era - including wide white marble front stairs, a splendid 10' by 12' original Tiffany art stained glass window, magnificent plasterwork on the ceilings, carved moldings, damask walls and crystal chandeliers.
